[ CHARACTER INFORMATION ]
Name: Fujino Asagami
Age: She has no canon age, though she looks to be about 17
Gender: Female
Canon: Kara no Kyoukai
Timeline: A little bit after the climax of their battle, right as she's about to be stabbed by Shiki
Background: Here!

Personality: On the surface, Fujino is just what you would expect someone who's a model student to be: Polite, kind, and respectful of others (heck, she'll use honorifics with anybody, really). She doesn't cause any trouble and is helpful to others, so she'll usually try get along with anybody. She is also kind of timid, a bit passive, and reserved, but she’s not above teasing, albeit very lightly, and only with someone whom she considers a friend, nor is she passive enough that she’s an extreme doormat-- like that moment in the cafe where she tries to calm Azaka down after an encounter with Shiki, she will try to diffuse the situation, whether through a polite reminder or other pacifistic means. All in all, she looks to be just about your typical and perfect good girl.

However, underneath Fujino’s facade she is quite mentally unstable and would seem as if she would break at any moment, were it not for the fact that she's barely clinging onto her built-up image. While she’s not out-and-out a complete sadist, she is still quite sadistic in regards to murder; as much as she claims to not enjoy it, she does take some unconscious pleasure in being able to kill, and as twisted as it is, it seems to give her a sense and makes her think it is proof of being alive, since it was the first emotion she felt upon getting back her sense of pain. That doesn’t mean that she’s a cold-blooded killer who wants to kill everybody- in fact, she’s far from it. She is hesitant, but her shambled mind tries to rationalize the murders she commits as only a defense mechanism to hide her abnormality from others, as she doesn’t want anyone to find out about it.

Speaking of which, although her sense of pain has been healed during this point in time and she can feel now, she still tends to pent up about it, since she has been used to not feeling any sort of harm during her life (i.e. When people had asked if her injured leg had hurt, and she merely shook her head). Even if the injury is major, she will try to deny it as much as she can. With emotional pain, she never speaks up about it, as she’s never had experience with it. That isn’t to say that she’s completely apathetic- with the abnormality lifted, she’s currently able to feel other emotions, though sometimes she won’t recognize it on the spot, especially if it’s something extreme like love or hate. With other people, she can, at times, seem pretty disinterested whenever she talks to anyone, though again, it’s only because she doesn’t have much experience in dealing with it. Regardless, she will still try to act interested whenever she can.

Another thing to take note of is that Fujino can be quite persistent. As fragile as she seems, she can be very tenacious and will not stop once she decides to pursue something. This can be either a good or a bad thing, depending on the situation, and sometimes it leads to worse things (like, it was pretty much evident that tracking down the person who escaped her first massacre only made her more insane with each kill). Plus, she can’t stop herself because even if she would want to, she lacks the knowledge to do so. Thus, she’ll keep going until she runs into a huge obstacle in which she can’t avoid in any way (i.e. KnK’s protag Shiki, who’s an equal match to her) or until she completely exhausts herself.

In the end, Fujino just wants an ordinary life because she truly wants to be a normal person and wants others to see her in that way too. She assumes that everyone will accept her if she only does good and no one finds out about how broken she is, thus it’s why she strives to be a model citizen, and has been doing so for nearly her entire life, even if it means that she has to limit herself experiences in social scenes. She cannot let one person even know how she really is because she’s worried about being seen as a monster and doesn’t want to be shunned from everyone, so despite all of the internal struggles, she only wants to live.

Why is your character a good fit for the setting of Soul Campaign, and what will they do once they are in the game? I think Fujino would be a good fit because she’ll have to struggle to survive in acting normal while finally getting the chance to experience what she couldn’t from canon. She’ll at first be reluctant to fight, but she’ll still want to help and satiate her hidden desires in the end.

List the abilities your character will still have in Soul Campaign:

-Fujino will still be able to be as crazy persistent like she was in canon.
-She’ll also keep her skill to be used to huge amounts of pain.

List the weaknesses your character will gain (or lose) in Soul Campaign:

-Aside from the rare exception where she was able to fool Azaka in canon, Fujino will still not be able to lie very well, especially with people that are very perceptive.
-She will not be able to understand some social situations, since she has had no experience with them in her life.
-Due to her stunted emotional growth, Fujino will react a couple of seconds longer than a normal person would.
-A weakness she will gain is becoming slightly unhinged whenever she’s near a wavelength of madness.

[ WEAPON ]

Soul Description: Fujino’s soul looks like this (except pretend it’s fuschia because this picture is old). The red and green fulcrums are usually neutral, though they glow brighter and swirl around faster whenever she feels threatened or angry; her soul is quiet, gentle, determined, kind, albeit also being murderous and sadistic

(Weapon Form): Fujino’s weapon form is a zweihander, and while it may seem to boast something great, it’s actually a glass cannon-type of sorts, which also reflects her personality. Handling her is no problem, as she’s usually light. which makes her easy to carry and her physical weapon strength is above average. However, if her Meister scares her too much and/or gives her enough reason for distrust, then she becomes heavy enough to have to be wielded by two hands and the strength is downgraded, but it also allows for the Meister to be tap in the power to use the Mystic Eyes of Distortion*-- basically a form of telekinesis which renders any target that’s in their line of sight to be twisted up. Although, in this case, all they need to do is just take a swing and/or land a hit onto an enemy in order for it to activate.

*Note: For all intents and purposes, that ability will be nerfed to half the damage it usually causes, since having it at full power would make missions too easy.

[ SAMPLES ]

First-Person
[There’s a bit of shuffling as the audio feed turns on, along with some low murmurs.]

How do you do this again...which was it...

[Voip! Looks like she’s found the video button]

Oh! Ah, hello everyone. [She gives a slight bow as she smiles.] I’m Asagami Fujino, and I’m new to the place, as you can see. I’ll admit, I’m a bit afraid since I heard there’s a war that’s currently going on. But, I am willing to learn as much as I can, so if anyone has more info that hasn’t been mentioned in the guide, please tell me.

[A split-second of uncertainty flashes in her eyes, even as she keeps smiling. This should be okay, right? It seems to be common around here, so even if she had been taken away and dumped into another place, no one would find out, and she’ll finally be able to live normally. At least, it’s what she hoped.]

Um, I’ve also heard there were x-rays that can show one’s soul, so if possible, I’d like to know what I am right away.

Otherwise, thank you for hearing me out, and I hope we get along!

[There. That should be good enough for today, so she gives one last smile and a wave before she cuts the feed.]

Third-Person
“Why are you going to kill me? I was only killing because my wound hurt!”

Fujino spat out those words in desperation as Shiki straddled her on the ground, and all she could do for the moment was lift her hand up to her face, and Shiki’s smirk as she did so only confirmed it. Ah-- there was a smile. Was it really how she felt all that time, whenever she had murdered someone?

“I told you-- we are birds of a feather.” Shiki said, as she lowered her knife for a minute, the intent to kill clear in her eyes, which bore into Fujino’s fear-filled ones. This was it-- this was the end, and Fujino knew. But, even so, she didn’t want to give up just yet.

I won’t accept this-- I’m not like you...I will never be- !!

With the knife now raised, Fujino closed her eyes, and opened her mouth to scream. Once it died down, her eyes suddenly flew open to view only nothing.

“...this is...?”

Was she already dead? It didn’t make sense. The weight that was pinning her down had been lifted, as if nothing had ever happened, nor did she ever feel the knife coming down on her. But, there didn’t seem to be anything else to see in this black void, so maybe she had died.

Either way, she could only look around for the moment as she wondered, before a loud ring interrupted her thoughts.

“Ah...?!”

Whatever it was, it was enough for her to quickly sit up and look around; her eyes had finally begun adjusting to the darkness, though she could only make out what seemed to be outlines of a structure, and it didn’t take long for her to spot a communicator which lay a few inches away from her.

Fujino was wary, but when it hadn’t stopped ringing, she had no choice but to pick it up. Once she did, she was filled in on the current situation at hand as she nodded a few times to make it seem like she understood, and thanked them when it was done.

She stood up-- only to fall on her knees as she felt a familiar sharp pang.

...It’s still there?

A hand clutched to her stomach; her body trembled all over, and it was too dark to see how she felt right now, even with the beads of sweat that had started to drop onto the floor.

A small curve began to form on her lips...

I am still alive.
